Joseph Paul Ammons, 87, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born in Arnettsville, WV on August 21, 1936, a son of the late Paul and Mary Ammons.

After retirement from Owens Illinois and Precision Coil, Joseph was an avid auction goer. He enjoyed horse pulling and was a member of the Ohio Horse Puller Association for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Cora Jeanette Ammons; sons, Joseph Ammons and his wife Angela, and Jeff Ammons and his fiancée Susan Knauss; grandchildren, Justin Ammons and his wife Maria, Jeremy Ammons and his wife Jessica, and Angela Ward; great grandchildren, Reed Ammons, Lyla Ammons, Dean Ammons, Cora Ammons, Jake Ammons, Hannah Dunn, Anthony Ward, and Natalie Ward; and a sister, Rose Linville.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Renee Ammons; sisters, Barbara Jean Ammons, Jane Carpenter, Lucille Reynolds, and Ruth Reed; and granddaughter, Kristina Dunn.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Olive Cemetery in Pentress, WV.
