Obituary

Joseph Norman Hutchinson (52) was born July 20, 1971, and went to rest with the Lord and his parents (Ruth & Rufus "Big Buster" Hutchinson) on September 11, 2023. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Affectionately known as "Uncle Bill" and "Sugawood," Joe was a beautiful soul with a contagious laugh and a smile that would bring light into any room.

Joe attended Marion County Schools, worked in telecommunications, shared his love for other as a caregiver, was a certified electrician by trade, worked in the coal mines and was a member of United Mine Workers of America. He was a gentle giant with a zest for life and the people in it. As a believer in Christ, Joe frequented World Changed Church International while living in Atlanta, GA. Upon his return to Fairmont, WV he fellowshipped at Welcome Baptist Church. He had a passion for history and enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed eating good food, cooking, fishing, playing chess, loved all music, and going to the Three Rivers Stadium to see the Pittsburg Steelers play, whom he loved. To know Joe was to love him.

Aside from his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norman, and Alma Gerse Holloway; sister Shirley and brother(s) James Michael Holloway ("Hollywood"), Allan Hutchinson, Terry Dunscomb, 4 other brothers; uncles Alfred Holloway ("T.C."), Melvin Coleman and Aunt Mary Coleman; nephew, Alonzo "Pooh" Holland, and cousin, Ardella Coleman. Joe is survived by his only daughter, Kara Collins of East Point, GA; sister, Arnette Holloway Loggins of Fairmont, WV; brother Danny Dunscomb of Pittsburgh, PA; significant other Angel Nicholson, best friend & "road dog" Dennis Burt, his favorite niece Danah Holland and nephew Jamal Smith as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly.

As an old soul with a jolly laugh, and all-around great energy, he will truly be missed. May we all cherish the love, laughter, joy, and impact he has left on our lives.

The family will recieve friends at Morning Star Baptist Church in Fairmont on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Jones officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
