Juanita Pearl Hunter, 97 years of Fairmont, WV, passed from this life on October 2, 2022 at United Hospital Center.

Juanita was born September 23, 1925 to Daniel and Lula Gwinn at Hinton, WV. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. Hunter, in 1991 after 47 years of marriage; her sister, Thelma May Gwinn; and her brother, Ray Gwinn.

She graduated high school at Hinton.

She was married to Lloyd H. Hunter at Hinton, WV on July 29, 1944. After their marriage, the eventually lived in Charleston, Beckley, and settled in Arbovale, where her husband worked at the Greenbank Observatory.

She and Lloyd raised four children, Juanita Sue Manning (B.J.), Rosemary Treadway, Nancy Weaver, and Dennis Hunter (Kathy). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Over the years, she sold Tupperware, with a distinguished sales record, whereby she received a company car. She also clerked and Montgomery Ward, and at a shirt factory at Cass.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and served on various committees and ministries of the denomination. She also served with Good Shepherd Ministries and Tyrand Parish Ministy.

Juanita was a very hands-on individual who was very good at cooking, as well as crocheting, sewing, and ceramics, all of which were shared with family, friends, and those known to her.

In lieu of flowers, she has requested that memorial donations be made to the Boothsville United Methodist Church, 19 Boothsville Rd. Fairmont, WV 26554.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Richards officiating. The committal service and interment will be on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton, WV at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
