Obituary

Larry Bruce Cox, age 70, passed away on May 26, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1954 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of Woodrow A. Cox and Leona I. (Dempster) Cox. Larry was born and raised in New Cumberland, WV until he moved to Fairview, WV 34 years ago. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1979. He was an experienced truck driver working for 10 years delivering bread for Nickles Bakery.

Larry drove tractor trailer across country team driving with his wife Judith (Tennant) Cox for 10 years. He also drove coal truck for Barry's Trucking for a short time of 6 months when he became disabled in 2001 from an accident while driving.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Judith Ann (Tennant) Cox for 51 ½ years. He is also survived by his 3 children, daughters Theresa (Cox) Savors and her husband Eric Savors of Fairview, WV, and Veronica (Cox) Peasak of Bridgeport, WV, and son Larry Cox Jr. of Worthington, WV.

In addition to his children, Larry is also survived by 4 grandchildren, granddaughter Taylor Cox of Fairview, WV, and grandsons, Colton Savors-Cox of Fairview, WV, Preston Peasak of Bridgeport, and Jordan Cox of Idamay, WV.

Larry was preceded in death by both his parents, Woodrow A. Cox and Leona I. Cox, and his sister Diana Prodanovich.

Larry is also survived by 4 siblings, a sister Karen Kaczmarek of Marianna, PA, and brothers, Kent Cox of New Cumberland, WV, Leonard Cox of Georgetown, PA, and Cary Cox of Weirton, WV.

Larry also leaves behind 2 very special friends, Dorothy Stewart and her daughter Ashley Polis of Farmington, WV, and his little treasure hunting buddy, Josh Polis of Four States, WV.

Larry had 3 cat who he loved and enjoyed spending time with. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing games on his computer. He was an avid football fan who was a Steelers fan his whole life.

The family would like to thank Ruby Memorial Hospital and staff who took excellent care of our loved one.
