Lemuel D. Abbott, 84, of Bridgeport, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022. He was born September 20, 1937 in Oklahoma City, OK, a son of the late Alvin and Jessie June Abbott.

Lemuel enjoyed fishing and was an avid Polar Bear and Mountaineer Football fan.

Lemuel is survived by his wife Phyllis Abbott; children, Rhonda and her husband David, Alvin and his wife Brenda, Junior, Wayne and his significant other Sherri, David, and J.L. and his wife Mit; brother, Alvin, Jr. and his wife Vonda; sisters, Lanell, Sarah, and Patsy Ann; 28 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lemuel was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim; and daughter-in-law, Gwynn "Pooey."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Polar Bear Football, Fairmont Senior High School, 1 Loop Park Drive, Fairmont, WV 26554.
