Leona Marie Long, 69, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born in Fairmont on December 26, 1948, daughter of the late Raymond Thompson and Virginia Knobel Thompson.

Leona was employed by Westinghouse Electric and Warehouse Grocery. She enjoyed her grandchildren, baking, and cleaning.

Leona is survived by her husband, Robert Long; her children, Jeanie Spitznogle and her husband Gary of Fairmont, and Michael Weekley and his wife Helen of Baxter; grandchildren, Gary, Greg, and Garrett Spitznogle, and Daija, Alex, Bailey, and Joseph Weekley; her brothers, Raymond Thompson and his wife Mabel "Pinki" of Fairmont, and Kit Thompson of Fairmont; her sisters, Deborah Hinerman and her husband Mike of Bingaman Road, and Jennifer Beckman and her husband Artie of Fairmont; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and James Lake of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Riley Weekley; her brother-in-law, Chad Long; and father-in-law, Robert Long, Sr.

The family would like to thank Genesis Healthcare-Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus for their excellent care.
