Lewis Eugene "Gene" Weaver, 77, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 in Fairmont. Gene was the son of the late Dellet O. Weaver and E. Beulah Currey Weaver. He was born at Fairmont General Hospital on September 2, 1942. He was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, Fairmont State College, and West Virginia University. He spent ten years as a trainman with the B & O Railroad. In 1975 he began his career in education as a science teacher at Miller Junior High School and retired in 2002 as assistant principal at Fairmont Senior High School.
At various times he served on the following boards: Marion County School Employees Federal Credit Union, Green Hills Country Club, and Pierpont C&TC Board of Governors.
He is survived by his son, Chris A. Weaver and his wife LaDawn, Chris's children, Jessica Castillo (Sam), Lindsay Britton (John), Haley Orgill (Zack) and their mother, Debra Friend Weaver; his daughter, Tracey L. Weaver and her daughter, Devin Sears; his great grandchildren, Allie, Bruce, and Adrian Castillo, Luke and Claire Britton, and Patrick Orgill. He was also survived by his brother-in-law, Joe Asterino (Marianna), sisters-in-law, Judy Lusher (Gary), Barbara Skinner (Rick), Diana Asterino, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Deanna Asterino Weaver and two infant sisters, Myra Sue and Sandra Kay Weaver, and a brother-in-law, John Asterino.
The family would appreciate any donations to the Mon General Hospital Foundation, 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505 In Gene's memory or for a donation to a memorial scholarship for students in a Master's program to become principals, 554 Sapps Run Road, Fairmont, WV 26554.
Private family services will be held at Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont, followed by a private graveside service at Harmony Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
