Obituary

Lloyd Edmund (Ted) Craft Jr, 89, of Fairmont, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at home.

Ted was born June 28, 1936, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late L. Edmund Craft Sr and Marion Hornor Craft. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores Mainella Craft. Ted was educated at St. James School in Hagerstown, Maryland and Fairmont Senior High School. He went on to attend Fairmont State College and West Virginia University, where he was member and captain of both golf teams.  Ted was an active member of Kibo Club and Fairmont Jaycees.

Ted initially worked for General Motors, then joined his family business as owner and operator of Sixth Street Pharmacy. He dedicated his time to managing the Pharmacy, including  the early years of the soda fountain and luncheonette to the later years of Fife & Drum gift shop, managed by his wife. Ted's sincere, friendly and accommodating demeanor was endeared by generations of customers.

A passionate golfer from his teenage years through his adult life, Ted won numerous championships at the Fairmont Field Club and other area golf courses. He cherished the lifelong friendships he made on and off the golf course. Ted and Dee also shared a rich social life enjoying many gatherings and sports outings with close friends.

Ted was a devoted family man whose love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren filled his days with joy.  He is survived by his three children, Lloyd E. "Tod" Craft of Manhattan, New York, Christopher H. Craft of Dunwoody, Georgia, and daughter Julia C. Templeton and husband, Rand H. Templeton of Fort Worth, Texas; his 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Connie Craft Gatto of Reston, Virginia and Debbie Craft (Mark) Blankenship of Fairmont; and brother-in-law John A. Mainella and wife Carol Mainella of Fairmont; along with several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Jeanne Ann Craft (Curtis) Haley.

The family will welcome family and friends at Saint Peter the Fisherman Church on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.  A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be at the church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Joseph Konikattil as Celebrant. Immediately following the mass, burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery followed by reception at the family home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com
