Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" Amaris Erdie went to be with Jesus suddenly in a tragic car accident with her loving boyfriend, Zaquan George on January 3rd, 2024. Maggie's family is shocked and deeply saddened by this devastating loss. They are finding comfort knowing that Maggie was welcomed with open arms by her Lord and is walking with him eternally.

Maggie was born on September 15th, 2004, in Fairmont, WV to Cecily Anne Greco and Joshua Stephen Erdie. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 2023. She entered the workforce at 16 years old in customer service. Maggie was known by her employers as being friendly and outgoing, and always having time to chat and get to know the customers she was serving.

Her family and friends will remember her for her compassion, her old soul, the way she loved her nieces, and how she was always there for everyone, no matter what. Maggie's contagious smile; and her soft and sentimental heart will also always be remembered.  Maggie was passionate about taking photos of the people and things she loved. She always appreciated receiving thoughtful gifts, and she loved giving them even more. She was interested in exploring new places and foods and escaping to new worlds through her love of films, television shows, and books. Maggie understood the value of togetherness, and prioritized spending time collectively with friends and family. Maggie spent much of her childhood in the Fellowsville, WV area where she was able to enjoy nature and live the happiest chapters of her life. She grew up praising and worshiping God at Calvary Temple in Worthington, WV and King's Chapel in Fairmont, WV. Throughout her short, but impactful life, Maggie held an unwavering faith in God and shared her faith with everyone she met. Her goal was to bring her loved ones together in Christ so we could all meet again in the afterlife. Maggie was lighting the path for us in her earthly body, and is now leading the way from above.

Maggie was preceded in death by her great Nani, Margaret "Peggy" Anne Greco, her great Poppi, Dr. Virgil M. Greco, her great grandmother Mary Frances Travelute, her great grandfather Wilson Jennings McElroy, her great grandmother Delores Dunhaming Erdie, her great grandfather Romeo Delbert (R.D) Erdie, Marvin Larew, and Bill Cunningham.

She is survived by her parents, Joshua Erdie and Cecily Greco. Siblings, Renee'a Erdie, Cameron Lynch and wife Cherise Lynch, and Sam Lynch. Nieces, Caleah Cooper-Lynch, Calyopie Lynch, Calhani Lynch, and Cambri Lynch.  Grandparents, Debra Keene, Will Keene, Jim Greco, Frances Wagner, Judith Bragg Cunningham, Karen Larew, Joan McElroy-Stemple-Erdie and John Erdie. Aunts, Mara Greenleaf, Sarah Zogal, Anyssa Greco, Angela Stemple and Christen Stemple. Uncles, Sam Stemple, Daniel Stemple, Jack Erdie, Joseph Erdie, Joseph Greenleaf, Issac Erdie, Anthony Morgan, and Vincent Greco. She will be lovingly remembered by many cousins but one who she considered a brother, Adam Hetrick. Maggie was so special to many surviving relatives, friends, and colleagues including the Clay family.
