Martha J. Ford Poling Niggemyer passed from this life at the age of 88 on September 23,2026.

She was born in Barbour County, WV on June 11, 1938, to the late Eulah and Delbert Ford. She was raised in Marion County, WV, growing up in Watson specifically (Fox Hill). She was a graduate of West Fairmont High School and Fairmont State College.

She worked for Sauro Dry cleaning, Fairmont Box Factory, Muriale’s, and worked in retail. Later she took classes to become a CNA. As a CNA she cared for the disabled and the elderly. She loved her work. In addition to her work, she had many hobbies including taking long walks, writing poetry, and drawing.

Martha is survived by three loving daughters, Wanda Poling Keener and husband Chuck, Brenda Poling Davis, and Shirley Poling Quirk, two stepsons, Mark Niggemyer and Mike Niggemyer, eleven grandchildren, Holly Smith, Rikki Butler, Amy Davis, Rachel Moye, Jimmy Lashaway, Liz Orr, Tammi Pierce, Cameron Quirk, Corey Quirk, Seth Quirk, and Heath Quirk along with several great and great-great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, her siblings, Dorotha Satterfield, Shirley Ford, Phyllis Ford, James Ford, and Marvin Ford, and two grandsons Andrew Rogers and Michael Buege.

Family and friends may join at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave, on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 11am – 4pm, with Pastor Jim Zinn sharing a few words at 4pm. Respecting her wishes, Martha will be cremated. The family invites everyone to the Colfax Community Building, 1731 Colfax Rd, following the service for dinner and a celebration of Martha’s life.
