Mary Lee Boor (Marylea) Hibbs of Fairview, loving wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother went to heaven January 23, 2024. She was born in Fairmont on May 25, 1935 to Delbert and Margaret Jones Boor of Grant Town. Marylea was blessed to have a full and rewarding life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth H. Hibbs, who passed away in 2018. Her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Evelyn Hibbs, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Blendine and Bud Greathouse, her daughters-in-law, Dana Hibbs and Juanita "Nita" Hibbs and her grandson, Bart Hibbs.
She is survived by her two sons, Brad Hibbs (Debbie Cattafesta) of Farmington and Kenny Hibbs (wife, Gretchen) of Fairmont. Her grandchildren include Rachel Hibbs (husband, Lee Tempest) of Pittsburgh, PA, Matthew Hibbs of Draper, Utah, Melissa Angelucci of Fairmont and Mindy (Jason) Statler of Fairview. Marylea was well known for her crafts and woodwork, often making beautiful projects for friends and family. She was also a four-time state individual archery champion. She and her husband Kenny were also two-time husband and wife combined state archery champions.
She was always involved in her sons' activities from home room mother, helping with scouts, school projects and of course, sports. Anytime volunteers were needed, she was there. She worked for many years as a volunteer at Fairmont General Hospital where she developed and maintained dozens of friendships.
She spent much of her later years baking her famous cookies. Visitors always left with a goody bag to enjoy. Another enjoyment for her was reading books she borrowed from the library in Fairview, sometimes reading four or more books a week. She will always be remembered as a kind, endearing and giving person.
She faithfully attended St. Paul Baptist Church in Fairview.
