Obituary

Mary Paula Cannon of Fairmont, WV passed away January 18, 2022 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas WV.  She was born February 24, 1933 in Thomas, WV, only daughter to the late Alice Roberts and Harry "Reggie" DiBacco.

Paula was employed at Fairmont General Hospital as a registered nurse for 26 years until she retired.  She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Sharing and Caring, Relay for Life, Knights of Columbus Women's Axillary, and West Virginia Travelers.  She had a large circle of friends.

Paula was preceded in death by her brother Tom DiBacco.

She is survived by her three children George Michael Cannon (wife Sherry) of Camby, Kentucky, Rebecca Ellen Reese (husband Bruce) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Beth Ann Clevenger (husband Dave) of Thomas, WV; her brother George Vincent DiBacco of Washington, PA, and sister-in-law Betty DiBacco of Parsons, WV.

Paula was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Erin Reese Wallace, Megan Reese, Sara Reese Fila, Emily Reese Allen, Kimberly Clevenger Roberts, Katie Clevenger, Christopher Cannon, and Jennifer Cannon and eleven great grandchildren.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. Paula also had several nieces and nephews she enjoyed spending time with

Anyone who met her knew her infectious laugh and good spirit.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cortland Acres Foundation, Thomas, WV where she spent her last few years and enjoyed her time there.

Special thank you to the Cortland Staff for the great care and becoming her extended family.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Vigil rites will be at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Joseph Konikattil as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Thomas, WV. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
