Obituary

Mary Rose Kesling Stalnaker, 94, passed away on November 13, 2021, at Fairmont Medical Center. Mary Rose was born in Elkins, West Virginia, on August 30, 1927, to Kathleen and Paul Kesling. She married Forrest "Bud" Stalnaker on June 8, 1945.

Mary Rose graduated from Philippi High School. She and her husband Bud ran the Highway Cabins in Beverly WV. They moved to Fairmont in 1960 where she worked at Owens-Illinois. She later retired from Electronic Control Systems in Fairmont. Mary Rose was well known for her creative abilities. She crocheted prayer shawls for many years for the Eldora United Methodist Church, where she held membership. In addition, she made blankets for the Shriners Hospital. She contributed many hours as a Fairmont General Hospital volunteer.

Mary Rose is survived by her children, Ed and his wife Linda of Fairmont, Mike and his wife Pam of Fairmont and Pam DeFazio and her husband John of Stephenville, Texas. Grandchildren include Jodi Everhart (Trevor), Jason Stalnaker, Jonathan (April) Stalnaker, Kurt Stalnaker (Kolbi), Max (Leslie) Stalnaker, Jay (Amanda) Shaffer and Kelle (Donny) Kelley. She is also survived by a much-loved niece Kathleen Pryor of Relay, Maryland. Great grandchildren include Anthony Everhart, Gabriella Everhart, Mara Stalnaker, Mindy Millione, Sydney Stalnaker, Kyle Dean, Kaden Dean, Brittany Matheny, Alyssa Matheny, Greyson Stalnaker, Matthew Stalnaker, Dalton Stalnaker, Liam Stalnaker, Amilie Stalnaker, Jaelyn Shaffer, Ryan Shaffer, Will Jones and Kamden Jones and three great-great grandchildren Noella Everhart, Aiden Brooks, Coalton Brooks, and Owen Brooks. She was preceded in death by her  husband Bud, her sister Rita Pryor, her brother Dick Lanham, and her grandson Rex Stalnaker.

A memorial service will be held December 4, 2021, at Eldora United Methodist Church, 23 Sapps Run Road, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 9-11am and service at 11am by Pastors Michael Richards and Scott Krepps. Interment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
