Michael Jones, 68, formerly of Monongah, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Morgantown, WV. He was born November 17, 1953 in Fairmont, WV, the youngest of the late "Sad" Sam Jones and Mary (Beans) Jones.

In his lifetime, he was employed as a coal miner, car salesman, and a DJ. He loved fast cars, music, and having a good time with his friends. You may have seen him these last few years riding his scooter around town. He was a 1972 graduate of Monongah High School and was a member of the basketball team.

Michael is survived by two sons, Daniel Jones of Morgantown, and Jamar Maddox of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Laila, Samuel, Camron, and Dominic Maddox; three aunts, Ruth King, Gladys Beans, and Josephine Hudson; two nieces, Angela Jones and Heather Jones of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Annette Jones of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. He also had a host of cousins, Eddie King, Jr. (Bonnie), Diane (Lee) Clay, Eugene (Mary Frances) Payne, Robin Beans, Terrence Hudson, Loring Hudson, Kristy (Jimmy) Baulah, Atoi (Garry) McFadden, Renee (Rodney) Rhoda, and Amber Royster.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Samuel Nick Jones; grandparents, L.C. and Ruth Beans; and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank all those that helped "Big Mike, Big Yellow" these last few years, there were trying times for him, and we thank all those who gave him special care and compassion, and to those who have expressed their sincere sympathies.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont, WV with Rev. Wesley Q. Dobbs and Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
