Obituary

Michael Dean Parrish, 71, passed away at Ruby Hospital on Monday, July 25, 2022.  He was born in Fairview WV, on May 12, 1951, the son of James "Poke" and Nola Parrish.

Mike was a collector of many things-from die cast model cars to sport trading cards to Consol stickers. He enjoyed classic cars and owned a custom built 1950's Ford Anglia that he enjoyed showing at car shows in around the state.

In his earlier years Michael sang in the gospel group, The New Creation, that preformed in different churches in the area. He also enjoyed hunting with his friend, Sonny O'Neil at Seneca Rocks as they slayed many deer over the years. He was an expert skeet shooter and won multiple championships at the state level and was recognized nationally for his skills.  Mike was a member of the Fairmont Shooting Club where he often took his wife Beckie to target shoot and often lost to her.

Noah's Ark Assembly of God church in Fairview was an important part of Mike's life where he served as treasurer and enjoyed fellowshipping with his church family.

Michael loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Everyone was at home in Fairview this month for a memory making visit.

Mike and Beckie renewed an old activity of camping and enjoyed spending time with friends Frank and Julie Latocha and Mark and Deronda Efaw. He loved spending time with good friends: Sonny and Paula O'Neil, Delas and Susie Stuzen, and Roger Main.

Mike was "Pap" to Louisa and Oliver Parrish.

Michael is survived by his wife of 42 years Rebecca "Beckie" Parrish, sons Nathan (Shannon) Parrish of Salt Lake City UT, Nicholas Parrish of Durango CO, grandchildren Louisa and Oliver Parrish of Salt Lake City, sister Terry (Dan) Nigh of Boothsville WV, his brother and sister in-laws Marmi and George Pintoff, Tom and Kathy Daniel, Cathie Daniel, Rik and Mary Sue Daniel, and Mark and Ferrel Daniel, along with his faithful dog Sammy and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Parrish and wife JoAnn and mother and father-in-law Martha and Tom Daniel.

Visitation will be held at Noah's Ark Assembly of God Church in Fairview on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 with services at 11:00.  He is now at home with all of his loved ones who have moved on to be with the Lord.
