Obituary

Michael Andrew Sillman, 34, of Fairview, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was born June 14, 1987, the son of Jenny Sillman-Johnston and the late Paul Anderson.

Michael was the Chief of the Grant Town Police Department and a Home Confinement Officer for the Marion County Sheriff's Department. He loved his job and the people that he worked with.

Michael enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Dolly Sodds.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cristy Sillman; stepchildren, RJ Jones and Breanna Efaw, Cody Jones and Katie McDougal, and Gracie Jones; grandchild, Stephen Jones; siblings, Tiffany Drake, Justin Stull, Tyler Sillman, and other half siblings; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Susie Selan; aunt, Michelle Sillman; David Sillman; sister-in-law, Natalie Cochran and her husband Michael; nieces and nephew, Makena Cochran, Jake Cochran, and Shaylie Haught; best friends Allen Myers, Gauge Miller, and his best friend and partner, Donnie Mundell, DFC with the Marion County Sheriff's Department; his grandmother, Nanny Efaw; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the officers and first responders who always helped each other from the Fairmont Police Department, Grant Town Police Department, Grant Town Fire and EMS, Fairview Police Department, Division of Natural Resources, Marion County Dispatch Center, and West Virginia State Police.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Connie Sillman, and an uncle, Danny Sillman.

The family will receive friends at South Ridge Church, 1659 Fairmont Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the church on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Corporal Isaac Harmon with the West Virginia State Police officiating.
