Mollie Mae Shaffer, 93, of Fairmont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 18, 2021.  She was born on January 9, 1928, the eldest daughter of the late Clyde and Phoebe Harris.

Mollie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She owned and operated Shaffer's Garage inspection station with her husband, John, and had worked at the former Owens-Illinois plant in Fairmont.

In addition to her parents, Mollie is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Shaffer; son, Dale (Johnny) Shaffer; and grandson, John Richard Shaffer.

Mollie is survived by her beloved sister Ellen Domico; daughter-in-law Cathy Shaffer; three granddaughters, Natalie Michael, and her daughter Jena; Lori Miller Flint, her husband Josh and her children Haylee and Hayden; Kelly Henderson, her husband Tim and their son, Jacob; her late grandson John Richard's children Caitlin Towns (and her children), Addie Shaffer, and John Carter Shaffer.  She is also survived by two nieces, Janet (Mike) Jacquez and Laura (Tom) Bonazza, three nephews, David (Jennifer) Domico, Greg (Maureen) Domico, and Tom (Sandy) Domico; and their extended families.

The family extends their gratitude to the caring staff at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven assisted living facility and the compassionate nurses at United Hospital Center.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue, Fairmont, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  A private family funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m., with interment at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.
