Nancy Belle
Currey
Dec 5, 1930 — Jun 19, 2021
Nancy Belle Currey, 90, of Fairmont, made peace with her world on Earth and left us for her eternal home on June 19, 2021. She was born December 5, 1930 in Enterprise, a daughter of the late Clayton and Stanley Campbell.
Nancy was a member of the Eldora United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Whitehall CEOs, and sang in the choir. Nancy graduated from Shinnston High School and was employed by A & P, Working Man's Store, and Sears.
Nancy enjoyed cooking/baking, gardening, canning, playing cards and games, and camping. Nancy enjoyed the great outdoors, sitting around the fire, and especially visiting with family and friends. Her home was your home. In anyone needed anything, she was always there to help.
Nancy will be missed so much by her five children, Cheryl (Larry) Hawkins, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Currey, Nancy Marie (Kevin) Wright, Rita Keesey, and Douglas (Debbie) Currey; thirteen grandchildren, Rachael Lowe, Nathan Hawkins, Sean Currey, Michelle Swiger, Chris Currey, Aaron Currey, Jason Wright, Justin Wright, Jessica Cantrell, Raymond Keesey, Trevin Currey, Abbey Currey, and Porter Currey; 25+ great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Deems and Doris Shaffer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James Manning Currey; and her siblings, Clayton Campbell, Howard Campbell, Jim Campbell, and Judy Huffman.
Although we struggled along with you as you lost your voice over the late few weeks, we know you have re-joined that choir this morning and are singing heavenly praises. And we are grateful that we will still see signs of you, and your spirit, whether it be simply through your memories, remembering hearing your voice, the occasional cardinal that you loved so much, and even a beautiful rainbow. Thank you for all that you have done for us, Mom, and may you rest in peace.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She will lie in state at Eldora United Methodist Church, 23 Sapps Run Road in Fairmont, on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Richards officiating.
