Pearl Wright
Stewart Corbin
Jul 13, 1927 — Jan 20, 2021
Pearl Wright Stewart Corbin, 93, of Fairmont, passed from this life on January 20, 2021 in her daughter's home. She was born in Fairmont on July 13, 1927, to the late Claude H. and Jessie (Moore) Wright.
Pearl was married to the late James West Stewart for thirty six years and the late Robert Corbin for twenty two years.
She graduated from East Fairmont High School and was a member of Millersville Methodist Church (now Valley Chapel). She had fond memories of singing in the choir with her twin sister, Mearl, and close childhood friends. Later she attended Baptist Temple and asked to be baptized and become a member.
Her second marriage took her on a journey to Eldora Methodist Church, where she transferred her membership and was a very active member for twenty two years.
Due to health reasons, she resided wit her daughter, Janet, and grandson, Jonnie, who were very loving caregivers.
Pearl was a role model for her family. She loved the holidays, where she enjoyed baking pies and cookies for the family. Her second passion was bowling, which she continued until the age of 90. In her later years, she spent her time with her family, eating out, taking long drives, and visiting with family and friends.
Pearl worked at Westinghouse, G.C. Murphy, Fairmont General Hospital, and retired from Owens Illinois Glass Co. in 1979.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Roy of Grafton, Elizabeth Stewart of Virginia, Claude (Kathy Jo) Stewart of Florida, Deborah Clemens of Pleasant Valley, Penny (Robert) White of McCurdysville, Kathy (John) Griffith of Pleasant Valley, Janet Hinerman, and Thomas (Virginia) Stewart of Kentucky, and also a daughter-in-law, Nieta Stewart of Fairmont.
Pearl had 26 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Hasley; son, James W. Stewart; four sons-in-law, Robert Roy, William Hasley, David Clemens, and John Hinerman; and one granddaughter, Shannon Kay (Clemens) Nesselrotte.
Pearl was the last surviving sibling of ten children.
She requested that all memorial contributions be made to the Disability Action Center, in honor of her grandson, Jonnie Hinerman.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private viewing and service will be held with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
