Peter Leonard Ozie, 76, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was born August 13, 1944 in Owens, WV, a son of the late Stanley Ozie and Stella Vanet Ozie.

Peter celebrated that late five years in St. James Plantation in Southport, NC and moved back to West Virginia two months ago. Peter was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He retired after 44 years from North American Philips/Westinghouse. He was raised Catholic.

Peter was an avid woodworker who built custom furniture for his grandchildren and built seven houses throughout his lifetime. He was also an avid pinochle player and conservative. He was a proud first generation American.

Peter is survived by his wife, Julia Gum Ozie; children, Kristie McDonald and her husband James, and Patrick and his wife Lisa Ozie; grandchildren, Brandon Latocha, Kailee Latocha, Emilee Latocha, Peyton Ozie and Dylan Ozie; and a sister, Helen Woodson.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Manzo and Francis Davis; his in-laws, Phyllis and Ivan Gum; and an infant brother, Edward Ozie.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Generations Church, 4019 Executive Park Blvd, Southport, NC 28461, or WVU Children's Hospital, 1 Medical Park Drive Morgantown, WV 26506.
