Richard Joseph Mullenax, 85, of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 6, 1936 in Fairmont, a son of the late Millard Swanson and Frances McCune Mullenax.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and his long-time dog, Hobo, camping, and being outdoors. He owned and operated Booth Creek Sanitation for over 30 years.

Richard is survived by his children, Annette Mullenax and her companion Wayne Greenway, Judy Mullenax, Becky Mullenax and her fiancé Trevor Hefner, and Matthew Mullenax and his wife Jodi, and two daughters who reside in Arizona, Vickie Pitcock and Susan Stafford; grandchildren, Amanda Greenway, Zackary Betler, Madison Betler, Molly Dublin, Jordan Mullenax, and Luke Dublin, and two grandchildren who reside in Arizona, Jesse Pitcock and Cyndi Irving; and great grandchildren, Marcus Greenway, Levi Greenway, Cohen Moore, and Isaac Hawkinberry.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Millie Mullenax; and brother, Millard Mullenax.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of WVU Home Health and Hospice for their great care.
