Rick Alan
Wiley
Nov 2, 1958 — Oct 12, 2021
Rick Alan Wiley, age 62, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Rick was born in Fairmont, WV on November 2, 1958, to the late Austin Dale and Nancy Bowers Wiley. He is survived by his wife, Paula Rossi Wiley; his five children Ronzel (Shannon) Wiley, Rebekah (Eli) Wiley, Jonathan (Megan) Wiley, Olivia (Thomas) Retton, and Rachel Wiley; his grandchildren Kaylen, Joel, and Asa Wiley; his siblings Cyndee Wiley (Scott) Barker, Debbi Wiley (Brad) Jones, and Tim (Kim) Wiley; his special aunt Sandra Wiley Samson; his nieces and nephews Blair (Keith) Earl, Blake Kiger, Jason Jones, BJ (Megan) Jones, Krissy (Roger) Michael, and the late Brandon Wiley.
Rick was known as a jack of all trades. He started his career as a Church of Christ minister in Reader, WV and Jacksonville, FL, before transitioning to a job as a Ploof Truck Lines driver and dispatcher. He was a coal miner and construction worker before moving on to the Refuse Industry and ending up in his present position as Manager of Landfill Operations of Tire and Rubber Inc. in Weston, WV.
Rick was an avid golfer and made many friendships through the game of golf. He was also a Mason-Dixon football official, where his crew regularly officiated on Friday nights. In his younger days, he was known as "Crazy Legs Wiley" when playing Pop Warner football.
Family was his passion. Rick was truly happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren and siblings. He never knew a stranger, and often spent sunny afternoons on the golf course or riding his Harley with a group of close friends. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Per Rick's request, the visitation will be private. There will be a Catholic Funeral Liturgy on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont with Father Joseph Konikattil as the Celebrant. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
