Rita Rae Wilson, 81, of Fairmont, passed away, Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born August 8, 1939, a daughter of the late Louis Prozillo and Rachel Stingo Prozillo.
Rita attended Miller School and Fairmont Senior High School. She graduated from Fairmont State College with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked for three years as a kindergarten teacher then took time off to raise her two children. She later worked at the Bellview Foodland deli and as a cook at Westchester Village. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Rita had excellent baking skills and baked cookies for all of the neighbors.
Rita is survived by her husband, Terrance Wilson; son, Bruce F. Wilson and his wife Lisa of Morgantown; son-in-law, Curtis Russell; grandchildren, Michelle Peasak and her husband Tim and Franklin Wilson; sisters, Gloria Straight and her husband Howard of Charlestown and Lois Retton and her husband Ronnie of Fairmont; niece and nephew Fred and Billie Tennant of Brideport; Donna Wilson of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Tera Russell.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Pierpont Center for their fabulous care of Rita.
The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont with Father Joseph Konikattil as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
