Robert "Bob" Charles Gorey, Sr., of Grafton, formerly of Virginia Avenue, Fairmont, and Rachel community, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at United Hospital Center.

He is the son of the late Mary (Urcheck) and Charles Goryl; brother to Carol (Gotses) and Irene Gorey and the late Genevieve (Tekieli) and Loraine (Knobel).

He is a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1950 and served his country during the Korean War. He was employed as a coal miner at Joanne Mine in Rachel and other coal mines in West Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Arlene (Cross) Gorey; sons, Robert Charles Gorey, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Grafton, Michael Joseph Gorey (Dawna) of AZ, Eric Lee Gorey of Fairmont; daughter, Lori Caroline Gorey of Fairmont; grandchildren, Josh Blaydes (Katie) of WI, Ellen Blaydes-Taylor (Pieter) of Morgantown, Amber Livingston (Gorey) of MN, Megan Marie Gorey of AZ, and Hali Marie Brown (Gorey) of Morgantown; great grandchildren, Eli Blaydes of WI and Jenny Blaydes-Taylor of Morgantown; many nieces and nephews; many friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly; and of special note, Robert Gotses and Lloyd Kratzer.

A service for friends and family will be held at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. followed by a private service for family beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021.
