Robert Gene Haney, 94, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019. He was born in Fairmont on August 6, 1925, son of the late Gordon and Ardoth Haney.

Robert retired after 50 years at what was then known as Alcan. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 91 ^st Infantry in World War II and was a life member of the VFW. He was also a member of the TBI Fraternity. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and swinging on the porch with his dog, Maisey, and watching Pirates games.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Deborah Marano; grandson, Greg Marano and his wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Anthony, Ava, Allie, and Jillian; and a great great grandchild, Mason Price.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Haney; and a granddaughter, Amy Sayre.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Preston officiating.
