Obituary

On Friday, April 3, 2020, Robert Marshall "Binky" King, Jr. (76) of Monumental began his eternal journey. Robert was born on May 1, 1943, in Fairmont, WV. The oldest son of the late Robert M. King, Sr. and Adeline King Sutphin.

In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jon and Kerry King. Binky is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of fifty-five years, Nancy Preston King; his two sons, Troy King of Morgantown and Brent King (Swapna), and a daughter, Heather Morris (Kenny); a brother, Randy King (Barbara), all of Fairmont; a sister-in-law, Kathy King of VA; and three grandchildren, whom he adored, Sydney and Shaila King, and Caden Morris.

Binky was a 1962 graduate of Barrackville High School with several athletic achievements. These consisted of All Mason Dixon conference football grid, 1962 All State Football Player #85. He also was a member of the track team. He was a graduate of Huntington Barber College and owner of Tommy's Barber Shop.

Binky worked various jobs throughout his lifetime. He started at a young age at the Barrackville Post Office and Hardware Store. Also, he was employed at Hope Gas and Blacksville and Barrackville Coal Mines. He was a school bus driver for Marion County and a salesman at Astro Buick and Oldsmobile and Anthony Chevrolet dealerships.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He never met a stranger and always touched many lives with laughter, known for telling one joke after another.

Binky was Christian by faith and a member of the Oakwood Church of Christ having been raised as a child in the Barrackville Church of Christ.

The family would like to thank WVU Hospital and Fairmont Regional Medical Center for their kindness and care.

In keeping with his wishes and the current situation of the COVID-19 virus, he will be cremated. At a later date, a private graveside service will be officiated by Evangelist Brent Gallagher. The family has requested memorial donations be made in his name to the West Virginia Christian Youth Camp, 425 Youth Camp Drive, Pennsboro, WV 26415.
