Robert Allen "Q" Askew passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was born December 9, 1950 to the late Cornelius and Mary Jean Askew.

Robert was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and Howard University. Robert retired from the US Department of Homeland Security & Transportation Administration.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sara and William Rose Askew; his wife, Gwen Askew; and three uncles, Elegin, Joe Cook, and Emery Rose.

He leaves to mourn, son, Robert Allen II; brother, Nathaniel (Thelma) Askew; Nephews & Nieces, Lil Nate, Damion (Sara) Askew, Terence (Jewel) Askew, Nathaniel Barnes, Dawn Askew; Aunts, Willa Wilson and Hollis Cook; companion, Lois Jeffries-Smith; a plethora nieces, nephews, and cousins; and very close friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends at Morning Star Baptist Church, 100 McKinney Street in Fairmont, on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the church on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
