Rogette
Bickerstaff
d. May 16, 2025
Rogette Bickerstaff, 56, of Fairmont, WV, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025, surrounded by her sons. She was held in the arms of the people she loved most after a courageous battle with cancer. Rogette fought with unmatched strength, grace, and determination until the very end — never letting her illness define her, and continuing to uplift everyone around her through it all.
Rogette was a one-of-a-kind soul who lived her life with an open heart, a brilliant smile, and a spirit that touched everyone she met. She had a way of making you feel like you'd known her forever — her warmth, generosity, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on all who had the joy of knowing her. Her laughter was contagious, her sense of humor unmatched, and her ability to light up any room was a true gift.
Born and raised in Fairmont, she graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1987. She spent most of her life in the service industry, where her kindness and charisma made her beloved by coworkers and friends alike. Most recently, she worked at West Virginia University, where she brought the same dedication, heart, and joy to everything she did.
She was the daughter of the late Pamela Kirby (2016) and Roger Bickerstaff (2006).
Rogette's greatest joy and purpose in life came from being a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into her family, and her love lives on in them.
She is survived by her four sons: Bronsen Bickerstaff of Morgantown, Jordan Bickerstaff of Fairmont, Brandon Bickerstaff of Fairmont and Trevon Wallace of Morgantown. Also surviving are their loving partners, who she welcomed with open arms: Kris Owens, Mercedes Corbin, and Curstin Everson.
Rogette was a proud and devoted grandmother to Nasier Bickerstaff, Peyton Bickerstaff, Aubrey Bickerstaff all of Fairmont. Leyanna Robinson, Nolyck Robinson and Nyrow Robinson all of Morgantown. Her "babies" were the light of her life, and nothing brought her more happiness than being with them.
She also leaves behind her sister, Kimberly Ramage and husband Rick of Virginia, and her brother, Roger Bickerstaff II and wife Elizabeth of Texas, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
Rogette lived her life by example — always giving, always loving, always welcoming. She treated everyone like family and had an incredible way of making people feel safe, accepted, and cherished. Even during her most difficult days, she stayed strong for those she loved. Her strength radiated through her family, and the resilience she passed on to them will carry her legacy forward.
She loved the little things — road trips with her family, shopping for thoughtful gifts, curling up with a good book, and listening to classic R&B. But more than anything, she loved simply being with her family. Her happiest moments were spent with them, laughing, loving, and making memories.
Rogette's love was powerful, her spirit unforgettable, and her impact everlasting. She was a warrior, a nurturer, and a light in so many lives. To be loved by her was to know true love.
She will be missed more than words can say — and remembered, always, with love.
