Rose Ann
Pizatella
Oct 23, 1931 — Apr 14, 2019
Rose Ann Pizatella passed away peacefully on April 14, 2019 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Monongah, West Virginia on October 23, 1931. When she was nine months old her family moved to Watson which is where she resided for the entirety of her life.
On July 8, 1950, she married Tony Pizatella, who preceded her in death in 2015. She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Larry Lavorata, her sister Carolyn Cassetta, her son Anthony and daughter Lori in addition to all of her brother and sister-in-laws with the exception of Sara Pizatella of Los Angeles, California.
She is survived by her loving children Brenda, Jeanne and Ronnie Pizatella and her grandchildren Adrienne (Kellen Quigley), Rachel (Billy Ford), Teila, Antonio, Hannah and Elena, who, in her own words, "were the lights of her life," as well as dear friend, Jennifer Powell. She is also survived by her brother Carl Lavorata (RoseAnna), Mary Lou Meale (Eugene). She was blessed to have many close nieces and nephews stand with her throughout the many years with special mention of her nieces Carolyn Delorenzo Micheal and Sharon Delorenzo and nephew John Franklin Pizatella
Rose Ann was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend. Throughout her life she was known for her hospitality, opening her home to many with generosity and, at the least, a baked ziti in the oven. In addition, she was an outstanding seamstress and baker, known for her biscotti. Her strong will always prevailed as evidenced by the fact that she wrote a large part of this obituary herself, starting in 1984. Her legacy will live on through the close bonds of the family she created.
A special thanks to Dr. Peter Ang, not only for his knowledge and care but for his sincerity and support of her family. A thanks to the staff of Fairmont Regional Medical Center who allowed her to end her life with dignity and peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Anthony Pizatella, Jr FSHS Foundation Scholarship, St. Jude's Research Hospital, The Marion County Soup Opera or a charity of your choice.
