Obituary

Stephen Edward Harris passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 76 years old. Steve was a man of the world living in different states and countries. He graduated from high school at Oak Glen in Hancock County. While there, he served his country in Vietnam with Charlie Company from 1966-1968. He attended college at West Virginia Wesleyan and Fairmont State University. He retired from Consol's Loveridge Mine in 2000. His interests included hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, and snow skiing. In later life, he enjoyed tying flies. He was a member of the Central Christian Church, The Gun Club, NWTF, Quail Forever, and Ruffled Grouse Society.

His parents, Edward and L. Roberta Harris, preceded him in death. His survivors include his wife, Sheila Matthews Harris and his son, Jason; his sister, Janet and brother-in-law, Charles Furimsky; and his nephew and niece, Benjamin and Erin Furimsky. Steve will be remembered as a kind, loving, and positive husband, brother, father, and friend.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A memorial service will be on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. D.D. Meighen officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
