Stephen "Butch" Shepherd, 72, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019. He was born in Fairmont on January 4, 1947, son of the late Milton Edwin Shepherd and Beulah Rebecca Jackson Shepherd.

Stephen was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a custodian for Fairmont General Hospital, as well as a tree trimmer. He also was a minister for the House of Prayer and was a prophet of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and 4 wheeling.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Shirley Shepherd; his children, Vincent "Vinnie" Shepherd and Courtney Leeann Jones; his grandson, Noah Shepherd; his sister, Judy Reger; brothers, Jimmy Shepherd, Danny Ray Shepherd, and Perry Lincoln Shepherd; his friend, Bill Reger; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Springs.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his sisters, Rosalee Richards and Emily Wilson; and his brother, Harry Cecil Shepherd.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hewitt officiating.
