Terry Galambus passed from this life at United Hospital Center on March 8, 2024, at age 69, after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
Terry was born on April 29, 1954, in Fairmont, West Virginia. He graduated from East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State University where he was an outstanding athlete and quarterback. Terry was later inducted into the Fairmont State Football Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements.
In 1973, Terry married his high school sweetheart, Catherine Rose Yann and they began their life together. Terry worked at Westinghouse and Loveridge before moving to Herndon, Virginia in 1987. He was a talented carpenter and craftsman and started his own construction business. Terry returned to Fairmont in 2010 and renovated his childhood home and lived there until his passing.
Terry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Rose Yann Galambus, daughter, Cresta Lee Stedman, granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Casey Ray Stedman, brother Frank (Janie) Galambus, sisters-in-law, Debbie (Mark) Pettit and Toni Davis, brother-in-law Russell Yann III and three nieces, Michelle McDonald, Talia Weiss, and Morgan Dailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Patty Galambus and his son Christopher Lee Galambus.
Special thanks to Terry Brake, Bob Brookover, Bill Ice, Jack Renick, Mike Skinner, Larry Starkey, Sam Spine, Tommy Thompson, Rob Westfall, Rudy Williams, Paul Yearsley, his caregiver and friend, Tara Gerkin, the Marion Co. Transit Authority and Davita Dialysis for their love and support.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue, in Fairmont on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm with service to follow.
