Thomas Blair
Frederick
Jun 30, 1948 — Jul 16, 2023
Thomas Blair "Flower Man" Frederick departed this life peacefully at his home in Bunner Ridge, on July 16, 2023, due to complications from heart disease. He was 75 years old. Tom was born on June 30, 1948 to the late Lawrence Blair Frederick and Mary Mae Sims Frederick Williams.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Herman Frederick, and a lifelong friend whom he cherished as his brother, John Ware (Pete) Weaver. He is survived by his wife Terry Kay Vincent Frederick of 55 years whom he married on November 23, 1968.
He was the proud father to three children: Thomas (Tommy) Blair Frederick, Andrea (Mike) Ridgway, and Kimberly (John) Pethtel. His three children gave him seven precious grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Abigail Frederick, Emma (Brian) Kidd, Victoria (Toree) and Ross Alan Ridgway, Nathan (Savanah) Thomas James, Lucas Lafayette, and Piper Lillian Pethtel. He also is survived by four Great Grandchildren: Autumn Blair Albright, Violet Dawn Pethtel, Ethan and Harmony Kidd. He leaves behind multiple four-legged family members whom he loved very much, Sylvie and Angel.
Tom worked at Owens Illinois Glass Plant from 1967 until it closed down. He delivered flowers for Kime Floral from 1982 until his retirement in 2010.
The one accomplishment in his life that he's most proud of was when in obedience to the command and in imitation of the example set forth by our Lord Jesus Christ, he was buried with him in baptism on October 12, 1969. He was a member of the Bunner Ridge Church of Christ.
He was a member of the Bunner Ridge Fire Department serving in the capacity of Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief for several years. He was a member of the Fire Chiefs Association and a recipient of the "Danny Kuhn" Memorial Award in 2017.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Aides from Amedisys Home Health Care. They took wonderful care of him especially Courtney, Angie, Brenda, Trish, and Corrina.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont on Tuesday, July 18th, from 1:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, July 19th, from 9:00a.m. until 10:00a.m. and the Funeral Service will begin at 10:00a.m. with Dr. Matt Kime officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Bunner Ridge. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
He will be remembered by his special "lil man Waylon James."
