Thomas “Tom” Bruce Henderson, 70, of Bingamon Community, passed away suddenly on September 12, 2026. Tom was the 2nd son and 5th child of the late Glenn Henderson and the late Martha Ann Ellison Henderson. He attended Monongah Baptist Church.

Tom is survived by daughter, Loran Lowdermilk and her husband Chris and their children: Eden and Owen Lowdermilk. His special joy was the experience of being an engaged and active dad to Loran and Pappy to Eden and Owen. Although, he generously credits Loran’s greatest attributes to his late wife, Barbara.

Tom is also survived by daughter, Danielle Jones (Ronnie), his first born, whose accepting and generous nature allowed them to enjoy a special relationship as adults.

Tom is also survived by siblings, his favorite brother, Johnny Henderson; Sharon Husty (Joe), favorite sister, Charlotte Laymon (Curt), Marsha Hudkins, Glenna Henderson, and Dee Ella Wallace and their children. He was pre-deceased by his youngest sister, Kathy Henderson.

Tom was a brick mason and his DNA crossed 3 generations, beginning with his dad, Glenn Henderson and Uncle Guy, then Johnny, Tom and favorite cousin Alan Henderson and then favorite nephew, Tom. In the 1970s and 80s, Hendersons or folks who married into the Hendersons or family friends – all old enough to carry bricks – worked the jobs – whether for a day or for years and Tom worked with all of them: cousins , Curt Henderson (Tom was his favorite cousin), David Henderson, and Doug Salisbury; in-laws, Gene Day and Curt Layman; and friends, like Larry “Fly” Fitzwater, Richard Huskins, and Greg (John) Marsh being the friends who prepared his gravesite for his remains. Their legacy was – even when you traveled afar years later – someone stopped you to talk about those Henderson bricklayers. They always remembered Tom in particular – for his skill, hard work, and personality. In his retirement, he was the go-to person for masonry projects for family and friends including the signs announcing Wothington, WV and, more recently the Green Hills Country Club sign.

He was not all hard work – always a biker, he loved 4-wheeling and picking berries (the ingredient for the famous Barbara cake). He never met a kid that didn’t like him and his memory of people, facts, and events was unmatched in the family – always acknowledging birthdays, in particular, with phone calls – whether to family, friends, or their surviving spouses. Everyone knew of his strong opinions. Most could pick up on the Henderson gift of making every dollar count and his favorite color being red. He was his mother’s son and honored her tradition of filling the need – more recently in helping Johnny and cousin Pauletta with medical appointments. His legacy is his loyalty to friends and family and their loyalty to him – because he was always in the ready position in times of need.

Family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Domico Funeral Home. Tom will join his Barbara – loved by all – at the Parrish Run Cemetery at a private graveside service with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating.
