Thomas “Tom” Hinkle, 42, of Fairview, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born June 26, 1984, a son of the Catherine “Kitty” Hinkle and the late Roger Dale Hinkle.

Tom was employed by Family Dollar in Fairview for 22 years. He was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. Every year, he looked forward to working with the West Virginia Christian Youth Camp. Tom was loved by the community, and he, in turn, loved the community.

In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his siblings, Amy Bell and her companion Gary Williams, Brenda Hinkle, Steven Hinkle, and Angie Shelton; nieces and nephews, Deidre Ellis (Ben), Morgan Beach (RJ), Derek Hinkle (Kali), and Shayne Hinkle (Chloe); great nieces and great nephews, Beau Beach, Orion Beach, Judson Beach, Amelia Ellis, Lincoln Ellis, Odin Hinkle, Koen Hinkle, and Quint Hinkle; aunts, Barbara Hinkle, Karen Adams, Francie Johnson, and Virginia Straight; and a great aunt and great uncle, Rosie and Bill Ware.

In addition to his father, Tom was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Johnson; and paternal grandmother, Gladys Hinkle.

The family will receive friends at Fairview Church of Christ on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on October 14, 2026 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The service will be on Wednesday at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Peter Ray Cole officiating.
