Tom Jay Hardesty, 71, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was born May 2, 1949 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late John Hardesty and Edith Martin Hardesty.

Tom was the part owner of Hardesty Brothers Construction. He enjoyed coon hunting, working the farm with his best friend and brother, Kenny Hardesty, and having coffee with the guys at McDonalds and Burger King.

Tom is survived by his children, Brenda (Frank) Hensley, Bobbie (Mike) Anderson, and Tom Hardesty, Jr.; his grandchildren, John (Amber) Spencer, Chase (Jennifer) Spencer, Diana Hardesty, Aniyah Jones, Jahmier Hardesty, Zecheriah Hardesty, A'Kirriah Anderson, and Kristin Jolliffe; great grandchildren, Sophia Spencer, Z'amariah Hardesty, Zyauna Hardesty, and Riley Jolliffe; his brother, Kenny (Carol) Hardesty; sisters, Martha Lanham and Ola Yosten; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wives, Diana Hardesty and Darlene Hardesty; and his siblings, Homer Hardesty, Henry Hardesty, Sonny Hardesty, Nellie Bower, Isabelle Hughes, Betty Evans, Glenda Neel, and an infant Baby John Hardesty.
