William "Bill" Duane Harris, 76, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born in Fairmont on May 23, 1942, son of the late William S. Harris and Eula Bourne Harris.

William retired from the City of Fairmont Fire Department after 25 years, was a founding member of the Marion County Rescue Squad, and was Methodist by faith.

William is survived by his son, Erik Harris and his wife Barbara of Harpers Ferry, WV; and a grandson, Matthew of Morgantown. He is also survived by Mitzy and Skipper.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Lencek Harris; two sisters, Donna Baverly and Glenda Rambaugh; half brothers, Charles Harris, Clyde Harris, and Marshall Harris; and four half sisters, Opal Barth, Thelma Stanfell, Drewcel Skinner, and Catherine Chadwell.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Buckland  and Father Tim Grassi officiating.
