Obituary

William "Buz" Robert Cox II, 73, of Monongah, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his home in the arms of his loving wife, Patty. He was born April 23, 1948 in Fairmont, the son of the late William R. Cox, Sr.

Buz was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Square Circle Hunting Club, VFW 7048, Eagles 2373, the Elks, and the Moose. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his John Deere, being outdoors, and watching WVU sports. He took pride in his home. He loved his grandchildren, and watched as many of their activities as he could.

Buz is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patty Cox; his daughters, Tricia Cox-Winkler and her husband T.J., and Casey Cox Harris and Jeff Keefover; grandchildren, Sydni Winkler, Reghan Winkler, and Michael Anthony Harris; sisters-in-law, Angie Rowe and her husband Jim, and Mary Linn and her husband John; brother-in-law, Anthony Utzie and his wife Laura; and special friends and neighbors who are like family.

In addition to his father, Buz was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louis and Sarah Utzie; grandparents, Clara and Ira Bunner; and his Grandma Jenny.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue, Fairmont, WV, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Buckland officiating.
