Obituary

William Michael Robinson was born on October 3, 1949 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Robert and Cornelia Jones Robinson.  Mike, as he was affectionately known, was a lifetime resident of Fairmont and a graduate of West Fairmont High School.

After graduating from high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Navy as an Electric Repairman from 1969 – 1974. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon Bar.  Upon discharge from the Navy, he diligently worked for Alcan Aluminum (now Novelis) from 1974 until his retirement in 2016.   He attended Trinity United Methodist church early in his life and, in his later years, attended Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.

Mike loved riding motorcycles with the Magnificent Souls, going fishing and camping with his son, Daymon and listening to the "oldies."  He was also a die-hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers who was known for taunting the fans of other teams that played against them.

The Lord called Mike home on May 20, 2025.  His life is celebrated by his children, Tamiki Robinson, Michelle McMurray and son-in-law, Darrell McMurray, and Daymon Elder and daughter-in-law Jamie Elder; siblings Robert Milton Robinson, Deborah Ann Hinton and her husband Jerry, and David Wesley Robinson and his wife Annalyn; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; aunt, Evelyn Tucker; niece, Arianne Robinson, and many more family and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cornelia Jones Robinson.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The service will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Q.
