William Alfred "Sport" Holloway, 96, of Fairmont, passed away at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg on April 8, 2018. He was born in Durham, NC on March 19, 1922, son of the late Willie T. and Elizabeth Holloway.

Sport was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Sport is survived by his daughters, Karen R. Holloway and Regina K. Holloway; grandchildren, Harold Rodriguez, Clarissa A. Eijsvoogel, and Saskia D. Eijsvoogel; and a nephew, Pervis Bates, Jr. and his family.

In addition to his parents, Sport is preceded in death by his wife, Malinda Byers Holloway; his son, Fred "Jimmy" Richard Holloway; his sister, Mary Holloway Bates and her husband Lt. Colonel Pervis Bates, Sr.; and his niece, Denise Bates.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 407 Jackson Street in Fairmont, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Mathew Konikattil celebrating.
